Region-Specific Features

Some Lumieos features apply only to specific geographic regions or jurisdictions. These features are opt-in and must be enabled per season by a region administrator.

CA AB506 Fingerprinting Support

California Assembly Bill 506 (AB506) requires background checks, including fingerprinting, for certain youth-serving organizations. Lumieos supports tracking fingerprinting compliance for regions operating in California.

Enabling

Admin URL:

Fingerprinting must be enabled on a per-season basis and will persist into future seasons once turned on.

Important: Enabling fingerprinting takes effect immediately — teams will see fingerprinting status as part of their overall team status right away.

Warning: Toggling the fingerprinting checkbox will not clear the team status cache. Cached status will persist for up to 1 hour, or until something else triggers a cache clear (such as a new import).

How It Works

Once enabled:

  1. The team importer gains a file field for the fingerprinting report and adds a status column for fingerprinting reporting.
  2. The region team list gains new status icons:
    • YPP Screening — Green if all screening items are complete (excluding fingerprinting)
    • Lumieos Account — Blue if the user has an account, grey if not
    • Fingerprint — Green if all three fingerprinting items are complete. Only shown when CA Fingerprinting is enabled for the season.
  3. Team status incorporates fingerprinting compliance into the overall status calculation.

Impact on Teams

When fingerprinting is enabled, teams in the region will see fingerprinting status as part of their coach compliance requirements. Coaches must complete the fingerprinting process to achieve full “Good” status for their team.

California State Requirements Warning

For regions operating in California, Lumieos displays a prominent warning on team pages when state-specific requirements (such as AB506 fingerprinting) are not yet complete. This helps coaches understand that additional compliance steps may be required beyond standard FIRST screening.
