Results & Advancement

For: Coaches, Team Admins

This page explains where to view your team’s event results, what awards exist, and how advancement works.

Event Results

Results are published by event administrators after the event concludes. There are two places to view them:

On Your Registration Card

Once results are published, an Event Results card appears on your event in the Your Registrations section. It shows:

  • Robot Game ranking — your team’s final rank and highest score across all rounds
  • Awards received — a list of award names your team earned at the event
  • Advancement status — whether your team is advancing to the next level (shown as an “Advancing” chip) or is on the advancement wait list (“Wait list” chip)
  • Downloads — links to rubrics, match result documents, and other files posted for your team
  • View Award Scripts — if the organizer has published award scripts, a button to view them appears when your team received an award
  • A View All Results button takes you to the event’s public Scores and Awards tab

On the Event’s Public Page

The Scores and Awards tab on any event’s public page is visible on and after event day. It contains:

  • Robot Game Rankings — all teams’ rankings and scores for the event
  • Awards — organized by category (see below), listing all award recipients

Results on the public page are only shown once the event day has begun (on or after the event date) and once scores and/or awards have been entered by event staff. Before that, the tab shows an informational message that results will be available on event day.

Awards

Awards in Lumieos are categorized into three groups:

CategoryDescription
ChampionsThe top-level advancement or champion award for the event
Core AwardsStandard judged awards recognizing excellence in specific areas (Core Values, Project, Robot Design)
Other AwardsAdditional recognition awards that do not fit the core categories

Each award has a type (e.g., “Champion’s Award”, “Core Values Award”) and may include:

  • A place number (1st, 2nd, etc.) for awards with ranked positions
  • The recipient name (team name or individual)
  • Organization name and city/state of the recipient

Award types can also be designated as advancement-only — these are used to mark the teams advancing to the next level rather than representing a traditional named award.

Awards are only shown publicly when they have been marked as published by event administrators. Unpublished awards are not visible to teams or the public.

Advancement

Advancement means your team has qualified to register for the next level of competition (e.g., from a qualifier to a regional championship, or from a regional to a state championship).

How Advancement Works

After an event, event administrators mark specific registrations as advancing. Teams marked as advancing:

  • Will see an “Advancing” indicator on their registration card
  • Gain access to register for the next-level event (the level associated with the current level’s advancement path)

Teams can only see and register for next-level events once an administrator has marked them as advancing. The next-level events will appear automatically in the registration workflow once this is done.

Advancement Wait List

If more teams qualify than there are next-level spots available, some teams may be placed on the advancement wait list. These teams appear on your registration card with a “Wait list” indicator rather than “Advancing.”

If an advancing team declines their spot or cannot attend, a wait-listed team may be offered advancement. Contact your region for information about how wait list offers are communicated.

Advancement Order

Each registration has an advancing order field (managed by administrators) that determines both the wait list order and the presentation order during the awards ceremony for teams that are advancing.

Rubrics and Match Results

In addition to public rankings and awards, event administrators can publish individual team results as downloadable files:

  • Rubrics — judging rubric PDFs for your team’s judging sessions
  • Match results — individual match score sheets

These appear in the downloads section of your registration’s Event Results card once posted by the event administrator.
