Events

For: Coaches, Team Admins

Events are the competitions your team registers for and attends throughout the season. Lumieos handles the full lifecycle — from browsing available events and submitting a registration, to checking in on event day and viewing results afterward.

Key Concepts

Events

An event is a single competition day (or multi-day occurrence) that teams attend. Each event has a name, date, venue, program affiliation, and a capacity limit. Events display a status badge showing the current state — such as Registration Open, Registration Closed, or in-progress event day phases.

Levels

Events are grouped into levels. A level represents a tier in the competition progression — for example, a qualifier round versus a championship. Levels control which teams can register, when registration opens, geographic restrictions, and the payment configuration required to participate.

Levels can be chained together: a team that advances at a qualifier earns access to register for the next level (e.g., a championship).

Programs

Lumieos supports multiple robotics programs (such as FLL Explore, FLL Challenge, and FTC). Each event belongs to a program and season. The event list and your team’s available registrations reflect only the events matching your team’s program and current season.

Registration

Registering for an event is done directly from your team’s management page — open the Events tab and use the Register for an Event or Submit Event Preferences button when a registration or preference window is open. You will be guided through a short flow to choose a level (if more than one is available) and rank the events you want.

Your team must:

  1. Have a “Good” status (all required compliance steps complete)
  2. Have a valid payment on file for the level (pre-registration payment mode) — or be ready to pay after registering (post-registration payment mode)
  3. Submit before the registration deadline while the event’s window is open

See Finding & Registering for Events for the full process.
