Season Timeline
The general process and timeline for a team using Lumieos:
Pre-Season / Before Lumieos
- Register the team with FIRST. This includes (non-exhaustive):
- Inviting all required contacts and completing YPP
- Paying the national registration fee
- Inviting all students and having each parent complete the Consent and Release form
- Register with Lumieos using your region’s instance and verify the email address you used in the national system so Lumieos can match your account with your team
- Wait for the region to upload the team report from FIRST into Lumieos
Note: Lumieos does not import data from FIRST automatically. Team data is uploaded by your region from FIRST reports. See the FAQ below.
Season Start / Invite to Lumieos
Users receive invites based on their registration status. Once associated with a team:
- Invite all students on the national registration system and have each parent complete the Consent and Release form
- Invite all Team Contacts and have them complete required YPP steps in the national registration system
- All Team Contacts must create an account in Lumieos and join the team
- Complete any items required by your region (Jotform, Demographics, Lumieos Agreements, etc.)
Note: Required team contacts only include Coach Mentor 1 and Coach Mentor 2 as noted on the FIRST Dashboard. The Team Admin can create an account if desired, but it is optional.
Once a team’s status is “Good”, the team can register for an event. Some regions also require payment in advance, which is not reflected in team status.
The Action Items on your dashboard show all outstanding tasks to get your team to “Good” status.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why isn’t my team showing up in Lumieos?
Lumieos relies on team report data uploaded by your region from FIRST. If you have recently registered or updated your team, Lumieos will not receive the new data until your region uploads the next report. Contact your region if your team is not appearing.
Do I need to create a separate Lumieos account?
Yes. Lumieos accounts are separate from your FIRST account. However, Lumieos uses the email address from your FIRST registration to match you with your team automatically.
