Awards Management

The Awards section lets region administrators control every aspect of how awards are defined, presented, and scripted at events — from building the catalog of award types your program uses, to creating reusable templates that structure each event’s awards ceremony, to writing the scripts judges and presenters read aloud.

Access the Awards section from Region Management → Awards in the sidebar navigation.

Prerequisite: You must have Events — Can Manage permission at the region level. See Permissions for details.

How awards are organized

Lumieos structures awards in three layers:

1. Award Types — The catalog of distinct awards available in your program (e.g., “Champion’s Award”, “Core Values Award”). Some types are defined at the program level by FIRST and shared across all regions; others you create yourself for your partner organization. Scripts that accompany each award are managed here.

2. Award Templates — Blueprints that describe which awards appear at a particular kind of event, in what order, and how they are assigned. An event is linked to one template. The template is the single place to adjust the award lineup for a season.

3. Script Pages — Stand-alone pages of ceremony script content (introductions, transitions, closing remarks) that can be inserted between awards in any template or combined ceremony.

Script versioning — how past ceremonies are protected

Every script in Lumieos is versioned. You can freely edit award scripts and script pages between events. When an event completes, Lumieos automatically records the exact version of every script that was read at that ceremony. Edits made after that point never change what was read in the past.

This means:

• Teams and their families can always view the original script from their event.
• You can update and improve scripts for the next event without worrying about overwriting history.
• Printing a ceremony script for a completed event always produces the original text, not any later revisions.
